Sustainability: Innovation and Responsibility
ZONIN promotes sustainable development in all its aspects: environmental, economic, and social.
Sustainability is an integral part of our DNA and represents a fundamental pillar of our company’s mission. With over 200 years of history, ZONIN preserves a heritage of unique techniques and knowledge, which we interpret and apply today to ensure the well-being of future generations.
Among the many activities we undertake to preserve the land and ecosystem, we are committed to limiting the use of technical means in viticulture, optimizing water resources for vineyard irrigation, promoting the use of renewable and clean energy sources, and protecting local flora and fauna, implementing reforestation actions when necessary.
Domenico Zonin
President and exponent of the Seventh Generation of the Zonin Family
“Over our more than 200 years of history, our love for good wine has brought our wines to the tables of countless families in Italy and around the world. Toasts with our wines mark authentic moments of daily joy and celebrate those simple gestures that hold deep meaning: sharing and conviviality, trust and responsibility. It is precisely with this awareness that the quality of our wines has always been at the core of our business, as a continuous thank you to our passionate consumers who have continued to choose us for generations and who still choose us today: “making good wine” has always been, for us, the only way to “do business.”
An essential element for us, as it drives our actions, is “wine education”: it’s not enough to sell bottles of wine by maximizing their visibility; it’s crucial to discover, tell, and bring to light the “invisible in the visible”—the culture, traditions, and stories that express this extraordinary product of the earth. This helps people understand wine not only as a good product, beneficial when consumed in moderation, but also as a custodian of knowledge and traditions passed down through generations, which must be enriched today for future generations.
The theme of generationality is key to understanding our entrepreneurial vision: companies are not only responsible “here and now,” but like families and institutions, they must contribute through their actions to express values of openness and otherness, such as preserving resources, respecting the environment, ensuring the well-being of people, promoting gender equality, and valuing diversity.
Now more than ever, the world, communities, and consumers are asking companies to take a stance on sustainability issues: companies are expected to show responsibility in their actions and justify their choices. In light of this, sustainability cannot be seen as an additional element to doing business but must be one of the foundational elements of the business model, corporate culture, and strategic decisions.”

Drink Responsibly: Value and Awareness
We promote a culture of "responsible drinking" to preserve the winemaking tradition and respect our future.
The promotion of Made in Italy, care for the land, and passion for local winemaking traditions have always been key elements of ZONIN. We consider wine to be the fruit of a unique land, to be preserved for future generations, which is why promoting a culture of “responsible drinking” is essential.
We believe that drinking responsibly not only adds value to our wines but also to our industry and society as a whole.
By organizing meetings and talks through our Academy at universities and educational institutions, we are able to raise awareness among new generations and contribute to promoting a culture of moderation, awareness, and respect—fundamental elements for collective well-being.

Projects with Universities: EDUCATION and ACTIVE Dialogue
Together to build a more sustainable future, through the education of new generations.
In 2023, we launched a strategic project aimed at promoting Wine Culture, Made in Italy, and Sustainability, involving both national and international schools and universities.
Our goal is to pass on to new generations the values that have guided our company’s history, creating an active dialogue with students from leading Italian and international universities, such as the Bologna Business School, IULM, and the Catholic University of the Sacred Heart, as well as the University of Manchester, King’s College London, and the Stockholm School of Economics.
With this program, we not only share the knowledge we have preserved for generations, but also encourage an open dialogue on how to improve, innovate, and tackle future challenges. Collaboration with faculty and students results in mutual enrichment, aiming to develop new and concrete solutions for the challenges ahead.

Academy: Internal Training for Shared Growth
We invest in the future by investing in people: continuous training as the key to success.
In 2024, we launched our Academy, a key initiative for the professional growth of all our employees. Our Academy is designed to promote continuous training on key topics such as sustainability, winemaking culture, social responsibility, and business strategy. Special attention is given to strengthening the sense of belonging and collaboration among all members of our team. In addition to internal training, with the support of our brand ambassadors, we organize educational activities for our commercial partners, aiming to develop the business in a conscious way, aligned with our values. The Academy represents a strategic resource for consolidating our business model, with the goal of innovating and growing together in a dynamic environment increasingly focused on the future.
